Hmm, thinking about this, I wouldn't do this trip on Ganymede without a dry suit for riding the Hipps, and an inflatable, floating tent. One that resembles one of those covered life rafts. It have to have a electric pump to inflate it, possibly solar powered, when your miles away from a convenient mountain top/island.
That's a long trip riding the back of a Hipp in an ocean the size of the Pacific.
