Hopefully the farcical ID card scheme goes with him, but somehow I suspect it will live on in some form.

I am cheered immeasurably. Though yes, I do suspect the ID card scheme might somehow manage to live on. Because Tony will look after his chum, and someday soon we'll see Blunkett back.

But yes, fingers crossed ID cards will go to the junkheap along with their foul creator.

Good lord, that's something of a surprise. I suppose a lucrative, but low-workload, career in Europe awaits.

As he was never one of the disturbingly competent ones I suppose he's not such a great loss ot the government, anyway.

*sigh* I fear this is all my fault; only a few weeks ago I foolishly claimed that the Labour party would never generate such entertaining scandal as their Conservative predecessors. I fear I may have invoked Sod's Law.

Unless I have the initials wrong it's a computer company that has repeatedly won huge government IT contracts which consistently prove to be bug-ridden, over budget, and deeply flawed.
