Pharos the Egyptian

One of the new novels on the Forgotten Futures CD-ROM will be an illustrated version of Pharos the Egyptian by Guy Boothby, author of the Doctor Nikola novels. It's an "evil genius" novel with some unusual features, and I hope will be of interest.

I've put it on line and would be VERY grateful for comments before I publish the CD-ROM or link to it properly on my site; I think that the OCR has worked pretty well, but in a document that size there are bound to be some errors.

Missing quotes at start of second paragraph.

Quotes transcribed as the numeral 1.

Chapter V

with the signer's permission will take him to that person

Should be "signor's permission"

I am looking for the Signer Angelotti

Should be "Signor Angelotti"

Chapter VII

Cafe1 de la Paix

Superfluous numeral 1 - perhaps an accent in "Café"?

Chapter IX

but, before I reached" it,

Superfluous quotes

showed himself a coward passed all believing

This is probably scanned correctly, but shouldn't it be "past all believing"?

With-this I lifted him to his feet,

Superfluous hyphen

Chapter X

When I say that ft is less than four feet in height

Should be "it is less than"

Chapter XX

Barest thou, knowing this, pit thyself against the servant of the Mighty Ones?

This should probably be "Darest thou".
