Silly Xmas Present

These have to be my silliest Christmas present...




The left slipper has a sound chip that makes a "space invaders gun firing" noise if you press the red label; the right has four LEDs, representing a shot from the defending thingy hitting the invader, which flash if you stamp your foot or press down hard. I've had to fake this by touching in the red on a couple of the LEDs, it wouldn't photograph properly in five attempts.

And they're pretty comfy, which is nice.

They come from Marks and Spencers, no idea of price but they may turn up cheap now Xmas is past.

Wow ... I'm now hunting spencers website for these slippers ... alas if i find them I'll have to have themp shipped over as spencers pulled out of canada a few years ago ... any chance you might have a product #? :P

Mouse? I was playing Space Invaders when it was the only electronic game around, and only found on "pay to play" machines in pubs, which invariably had really crappy joysticks and buttons that worked about 50% of the time. Don't think it's even around anymore (except possibly as an emulation of something primitive, or maybe a Javascript thingy).
