Mistaken Identity V

"So the monks made you from your sister," said Glory, "but you are the Key."

"Actually," said Dawn, "it's more complicated than that."

"Really," Glory said sceptically.

"Near as I can figure it, there's some of Buffy in me, some of mom, and quite a lot of my cousin."

"Your cousin?"

"Yeah. It's freaky, he's a guy. I guess the monks wanted me to protect myself."

"He's a fighter?"

"Scott's a mutant," said Dawn, taking off her red glasses. "And with all the stress you've given me my powers have activated. Burn in Hell, bitch."

The heat rays incinerated Glory before she could reply.


I'm just working my way through Dead Like Me season 1, which is available for £25.35 inc delivery on R1 DVD if you buy via Amazon.co.uk - ordered it before Christmas, arrived yesterday, I suspect it's been delayed en-route in the Christmas madness. Enjoyable, and they seem to be very inventive with the way people get killed (reminiscent of Six Feet Under, which of course makes me wonder if there are any 6FU / DLM crossovers out there).

Watched Jerry Springer: The Opera on BBC2 last night - mixed feelings about it. I suspect I wouldn't have watched it if it hadn't been for all the protests etc. in recent days, and while the music was okay I didn't feel it was brilliant. But it was reasonably good fun, and I don't begrudge the time spent watching it.

I don't suppose there is any news on when DLM S2 might be available on DVD? I'm having severe withdrawal symptoms.

And I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, and you might well already know this, but apparently DLM got cancelled over the Christmas break. I'm not sure if that's at the end of S2 or if the show got a third season. Either way, yet again, stupid tv executives.

Somebody had told me that production costs on DLM had gone up a lot during S2, and that it was already a fairly expensive show anyway. (The original 2 hour pilot was apparently extremely expensive.) But I had thought it was doing quite well.

Here's hoping it's not too late to save it, because there's not all that many tv shows I watch with passion and interest anymore.

Apparently MGM are trying to interest The WB in DLM and they are currently considering it

I haven't seen DLM yet, but the idea of a DLM/SFU crossover is very interesting to me. I did a scene where a Stargate and Buffy character end up in the embalming room with a SFU character and it was very fun to write.
