Ye olde wireless components
Mar. 23rd, 2005 10:56 amCan anyone point me at a UK source that still has cheapish 25 ohm and 100 ohm potentiometers? Preferably 2W or better power rating? Don't need high precision or anything, it's just for year 7 electrical experiments with batteries and 1.5v bulbs, meters, etc.
Unfortunately someone used most of the ones we have in a high current experiment and burned them out, so I need to replace quite a few - three or four 25 ohm, 10 at 100 ohm.
I should make it clear that I'm talking about the big ones with 1/4" shafts, as used to be used in radios, as trimmers for speakers, etc., since they're to fit in boxes that are already set up for that design.
They used to be available for 75p or so, but none of the component suppliers I've checked now have 100 ohm in any form except the precision ones at four pounds or so each, or any version of the 25 ohm type. Any suggestions very gratefully received.
