Charity shop surprises

Went into a couple of charity shops today, in one of them picked up a USB 6 in 1 card reader and software for three quid. Works fine on Windows XP with the driver loaded, while the iMac can read from it without any software at all. Ought to be handy.

Then in the other I got copies of Laurell Hamilton's latest Anita Blake and Merry Gentry books, both in very good condition, for a pound. Not my favourite author in her later books, but I'll probably read them.

On the whole a fairly good bit of shopping.

I bought a very nice set of fire irons for £7 from a charity shop.
I bought a set from B&Q when I moved here but they are pretty much for decoration, rather than for use, the shovel bends, for heaven sake. Todays purchases are much more robust and suitable for actualy tending the fire with.
