I've decided that I can't afford to get my bike fixed right now - it's probably a better option to sell it as it is and buy another when I can afford it.

If anyone wants to play around with a somewhat defective bike, it's here:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130638695123

Starting price £99, already up to £101 with 10 days to go!

later - Make that £227!

Well, I'm hoping for say £400, but this is already better than I'd feared.

And the fact that there have already been 500+ hits on the page, and a fair proportion of them seem to be watching it, is also reassuring.

Yes, I always consider myself lucky if I have 2 or 3 people watching something these days, so if you've got a fair number, it bodes well that the bike will find its value.

I'm slightly boggled by how many people are watching - it has more watchers than I had hits on the last five or six items I sold - and I'm praying this will mean a last-minute bidding frenzy.

Of course it may be that they're all waiting to see what I get for mine before trying to sell theirs...

I'd imagine the low starting bid probably helped a lot, I get the feeling things that start with a very low bid do a lot better in the long run, because it attracts more bargain hunters.
