Blue Meanie

"We awaited your return for aeons," whined the furry blue demon. "Conquering myriad worlds. This world was our downfall, perfused with happiness and song. We conquered, but its champions returned and we..."

"...betrayed me," snapped Illyria.

The demon hung its head. "We were seduced by... love. Their accursed music proclaims sentimentality in every note. We resisted, but it was our downfall."

"Hopefully your replacement will do better." Illyria ripped out his spine, and summoned another demon. "Fetch Spike. He will tell you of the ultimate weapon against the music of sentimentality. It is time to introduce Pepperland to... punk rock!"

End

Oh yes - Plot of Yellow Submarine is basically that demonic blue beings invade a world of happiness, music and love. Only one inhabitant escapes (via the iconic Yellow Submarine) and summons the Beatles, the only beings who can help free Pepperland by the power of their music. Eventually they free Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and their combined music converts the blue meanies to the power of love.

I am terribly amused. And Pepperland has been armed with Helter Skelter in the meantime and thus is able to fight Punk Rock with its own weapons. :)

Damn it! I've had that icon for years and until you pointed out that error, I never noticed it. As the nitpicker amongst my friends I hope I can trust you not to spread word of this unfortunate oversight. :)
