Is the scientific concensus now that Tunguska was definitely an asteroid? I remember reading a while ago that they thought it could have been an impact by an anti-particle or something quite exotic like that.

Could be all sorts of thing, but I think the general feeling is a chunk of cometary ice is still most likely.

It's not that uncommon, this is just big enough to be a cause for concern - a little smaller and it would almost certainly burn up even if it did hit the Earth.
