ffuturesForgot to mention the good news I had yesterday, which is that I went into the shop where I made my less than inspiring attempt to be a hero a week ago, and was told that the old lady I squashed is OK. My fingers aren't broken, and most of the bruising has gone, so it looks like this has ended pretty well.
