There's a new livejournal update that lets you rename or merge tags globally. VERY useful. Details here:

I'm also thinking that will be a useful one - for once!

An update that didn't break something? Wow!

Unfortunately I have to disagree completely. As I commented on the update page:

This is a really stupid and annoying change! My community of fic recs has 39 pages of tags. I used to be able to scroll easily within the selection box to find the one (or more) that I wanted to select - now I have to laboriously work my way through 39 pages, trying to guess which one the tag I want is on! Even if I sort alphabetically I still will have to go through half a dozen or so before I find the page that has the tag I want.

Plus, how do I select multiple tags if the ones I want are on two or more separate pages??

NO. Just NO. Please tell me that there's a legacy page so that I can still use the old system!

I'm not seeing anything like that at all. Weird.

Odd. Below is what I'm seeing (with the middle scooped out so you can see the header and footer) at 75% size. It's completely unusable compared to the old system with its scrollable selection box.

Ewww... I suppose because I don't sort my tags that way, they're all public.
