I've taken out presupporting membership of the Helsinki 2015 worldcon bid - a bit late since the choice will be made at the end of the month, and I'm sure they could have used the money earlier, but for some reason I've only just taken the idea of it on board. I've no idea whether it'll win, but apparently they're used to running very big cons, and are considered a very strong contender. Should know if I've wasted my money in a couple of weeks...

Well, FinnCons usually don't have any membership or entrance fees. And if the bid succeeds, there won't be FinnCon that year. Which means public can't get in this time.

I didn't know that - maybe they'll make the attending rate low for FinCon regulars or something.
