Picspam - Mushrooms(?) and a mini-Stargate

More photos - some mushrooms (or possibly toadstools) I saw in a fenced-off area of lawn by the canal a few days ago, and an interesting Stargate replica:









Anyone know what these are?

Served to a friend at the pub tonight - anyone else thinks it has a Stargate look to it?



Made of sausages, onion rings, mashed potatoes and gravy.

The fungi look like Common Ink Caps. Not much use except for making ink.

Well, I wasn't really planning on eating them anyway, it just surprised me that so many had appeared - there were none the previous week.

Their close relative, the shaggy ink cap, is edible, and makes an excellent mushroom ketchup, plus you are safe from its main drawback - the antabuse reaction.

I have no idea what the fungi are - but they do look rather cute. And I now want Stargate sausage and mash.
