I see what you mean - I meant to say something about "the writing wasn't very clear" but forgot. How about:
"Lopez faxed us a copy of the hotel register, remember? Her signature was immediately after Rosenberg's, her writing isn't clear but it's the same room number if you looked closely."
"Oh, I saw they were sharing a room, I just read the name as Ramsey."

I can't really change the "not picking up on Willow being gay" thing, it's mentioned in a section that has already gone to archives. I don't think Veronica would automatically make that assumption anyway, it doesn't seem to be something that occurs to her much in the show.
