Spammer!

Someone just comment-spammed my last fifteen or twenty entries. I've deleted all the comments as spam, but for future reference, is there any easy way to do delete all comments by someone from all of my posts?

later - same message using a different name just spammed me again. Seems to have hit my last ten posts including this one.

is there any way to block a livejournal user via IP address? REALLY don't want to go friends-only or go back and lock several thousand old posts!

Yeah, I think I just got hit by the same spammer.

I think the way they work is to spam someone, then everyone who commented on that person's journal, then everyone who comments on their journal, and so forth.

That would make sense, given the high percentage of abandoned journals it must be important for the spammers to find LJs that are actually still active.

Well, unless they have a complete list of LJ users I think it would be the best way to hit as many as possible.
