The local CEX shop is selling the three Twilight movies - at £0.50, £0.75, and £1. This isn't just a one-off, they have several of each title. Their usual price for a used DVD is £4 or more.

I've tried to steer clear of the sparkly, but at this price I might as well ask - any point buying them?

later - all comments agree - yes, it really is that bad!

Icon amended accordingly.

I've only seen the first one and found it immensely dull, so I'm not sure it is worth 50p. It's an hour into the movie before she twigs he's a vampire. There's about enough plot for a 45 minute TV episode, spun out into a feature length movie.

And romance fans may think differently, but I found the two leads had all the charisma of soggy cardboard and I couldn't figure out why either had fallen for the other.

Oh and when you think "Thank the Lord - it's finally ended!", it hasn't. It'll go on for another 10 minutes at least.

Boring is the worst possible flaw - I can forgive other things, but not that. Thanks!

Run them through the microwave and make drink coasters out of them.

Or don't buy them in the first place, of course...

Myself and the [livejournal.com profile] were_gopher sat down to watch the first one when it was on one of the Freeview channels. We gave up after 10 minutes; it was that boring and derivative; and the love interest seemed to be there courtesy of the North-West forestry commission.

Wow - wooden in every sense. Thanks!

Well, we've actually watched all of them, enjoyed them, and bought them, which is how we know there are five, not three. We didn't find them boring, we don't look for relationship advice from fiction, and we've both seen performances far more wooden than either of the two (actually three) leads. But then we've never gone with "what everybody thinks," preferring to find out for ourselves, which is how come we became fans in the first place.

Oh, and...everything is derivative, if you look hard enough.

It's up to you, of course. Sorry I didn't see this sooner.

The excerpts I've seen really don't incline me to see more, to be honest - I've already got far too many unwatched movies.
