The laserdisc player I got yesterday has a weird 9 pin female output (looks like a 9-pin serial port) which apparently has the following connections:

pin 1 gnd
pin 2 gnd
pin 3 red
pin 4 green
pin 5 blue
pin 6 NC
pin 7 NC
pin 8 CVBS
pin 9 PAL/NTSC toogle (PAL=hi, NTSC= low)

My original thought was that it was something like the EGA standard, but that doesn't seem to be it. Out of curiosity, would it be possible to feed this to e.g. an RGB SCART lead without complicated electronics, or is it only supported by some weird and wonderful display?

Reason for asking is that while laserdiscs are always composite colour, it's possible the filter in the player (which separates the composite into RGB etc.) is better than my TV's filter, it would be nice to find out.
