Which makes me think that the road accident analysis people need to take a look at this junction and figure out what's going wrong...

later - this may help make the layout of the road here a little clearer, as well as showing what the traffic hazard looks like without a car on top of it.

Why in the FSM's name would any put a traffic kerb that small anywhere? It's obviously causing more problems than it solves.

It has a "keep left" sign on it, I assume that cars driving out of the side street are supposed to make a point of driving around it rather than taking a more gentle curve. It doesn't appear to work very well.

Forgot to say that just after that turn there's a delivery entrance to a supermarket on the left, part of this is presumably to ensure that cars turning right at this point don't hit trucks turning into the entrance.

I have no idea why this is suddenly happening, I've never seen an accident like it before. They've changed the layout of the road the car was coming out of, a couple of hundred yards away and round a corner, but the main road hasn't changed.
