Apparently the former Top Gear team are leaving en mass for Amazon and are going to make a motor show for their streaming video service. Basically Top Gear minus the Stig and probably competing with the Beeb's new Top Gear when it airs.

I don't have much of a stake in this - I've watched Top Gear often enough to write fanfic, but I don't own a car or intend to pay Amazon for a motoring show - but it'll be interesting to see what happens, and if the new show is fic-worthy.

I suspect that Chris Evans will not be entirely happy about this.

Chris Evans and the rest of the Beeb probably figured this was inevitable once May and Hammond said they were leaving too.

Personally I'm disappointed. I would have preferred they take the rumored deal with Netflix over Amazon. The Prime service tends to seemingly randomly charge extra for some shows, while others are covered under their annual Prime membership.

Prime Instant Video is terrible isn't it. I've had 3 trial months of it, and in that time found the grand total of 2 things I wanted to watch. The rest were all apaprently in Prime, but you click on them, and find out you actually have to pay extra.

I've had several more months free trial offered to me, but, I can't really see the point in having it even if its free.
