Learned this evening - just after sending two emails that had errors and had to be followed up with corrections - that you can now add a "Cancel Send" button to gmail. What this does is add in a small delay of up to 30 seconds (depending on settings) before sending it to the recipient; if you press the undo link that comes up (next to the "your message has been sent" info) before the time is up it cancels sending and returns you to editing the message.

The setting is in the cogwheel menu under "settings" - I think it will occasionally be very useful.

To be fair, this has been there for a long time. I do not remember enabling it, I thought it was automatically enabled when introduced but I may be wrong there. Certainly a useful thing IF you spot the error within 30 seconds.

I am not absolutely certain what happens if you click undo. Does it go back to edit or just delete the sent email meaning you have to type it all over again? I guess I should test it sometime.

Goes back to edit. I've never noticed it was there before, but it's possible that at some stage I disabled it then forgot.
