A Transatlantic Tunnel, Hurrah

For an earlier take on this idea see the Verne article on my web site:

I should add that with this one you really need to read the small print - the article was wrongly attributed to Jules Verne by the Strand Magazine, but was actually by his son!

When I posted the stereographs a few days ago I'd forgotten that I'd put a home-made stereograph into Forgotten Futures III a few years ago (made by scanning a model dinosaur then adding scenery in front and back - unfortunately I saved it as a 2-colour monchrome file to save space, so quality isn't as good as I'd now like):

Iguanodon )

I also mentioned some stereographs in one of the last lot of Forgotten Futures adventures, as part of a description of a magician's workshop circa 1900:

...an endless assortment of oddities such as playing cards with suites on both sides, unconventional geometrical instruments, postcards and stereoscope pictures from strange places such as Lhasa, Peking, the Plateau of Leng, Boston, Boca del Infierno California, and Havana, and peculiar dice with eight, ten, and even twenty sides.

It occurs to me that if I ever revise this it'd be really nice to include some real or faked-up stereographs of some or all of these:

Lhasa, Peking, Boston, Havana - probably on line somewhere

Plateau of Leng - I know that there's an illustration in one of the Call of Cthulhu books, but I can't remember which one. If I can find it I can probably replicate it using a modelling program.

Boca del Infierno - Some sort of S.Californian town of the period, I suppose.

So - I'll be looking out for this stuff, but if anyone else out there can point me at appropriate illustrations, or remind me where the Leng picture can be found, I'll be grateful.
