ffutures: (lost world)
I've just discovered that the 1923 silent version of The Lost World is (a) out of copyright and (b) available on line as an MP4 video, http://www.archive.org/details/lost_world

I'm just downloading it to watch it for myself, but I think I may also add it to the next release of the Forgotten Futures Charity CD-ROM - I know that I'd essentially be giving buyers something that they can find on-line anyway, but it's a 160mb download and many people won't want to go to the trouble. While it isn't exactly state of the art cinematography, it does have some nice stop-frame dinosaurs and has always been one of my favourites. I'd add it to the main FF CD-ROM, but that'd only leave about 80mb unused, and at the rate the Forgotten Futures collection is expanding that's only a year or two. And no, I don't want to go over to DVD or multiple disks.

The other possibility is that I could put it on the current release of the charity CD since I only have a couple left, but that'd annoy people who've already bought a copy.

So, a quick poll:

[Poll #582429]

The other one I'd like to add is Melies Voyage to the Moon (yes, I know the correct title is French and that I've left the accents out of his name), but I can't seem to establish if it's in the public domain, or get hold of it as an MP3 / MP4. If someone has an answer to this I'd be grateful.
