In one of the 1960s - or possibly 1950s - Superboy comics (sorry, I'm not sure which issue) Superboy is challenged to perform several feats to demonstrate his powers. For the last of them he simply stands on his head for a while; when watchers complain he tells them to turn their photos of this feat upside down and check with astronomers, who tell them that Earth has been moved sufficiently out of its orbit to be detectable by instruments of the period.

Can anyone give me the date and issue number and title of the story?

It isn't this one, incidentally:

Anyone have any idea?

I don't know, but I do want to know who made the chain strong enough to string worlds on like beads on a necklace.

Definitely - and I sort of wonder how he was "saving" those worlds where this looks like a recipe for destroying them.

Remember, they're comic books! You have to suspend disbelief.
