This is a "Doom and gloom" cyberpunk setting in which corporate greed has already ruined earth's climate and society, the only way to survive is service to one or another corporation, and the only way to get any quality of life is is horribly dangerous crime. Basically, it's Neuromancer and other cyberpunk settings with the angst turned up to 11 and very few happy endings.

This isn't really a genre I'm incredibly fond of - I'd sooner be living in a less doom-ridden future such as the near future of GURPS Transhuman Space, also currently on offer, or something really utopian like The Culture - but if you like this sort of thing it's well presented and reasonably cheap, and it's the first time it's been offered in one of these bundles.
