And still the eBay idiots come
Jan. 19th, 2017 12:39 amI sent a small packet to Greece several weeks ago. It came back today, torn open in transit and the actual item (a focusing screen) missing, with a rubber stamp from the Greek post office which they conveniently didn't tick to show why it was returned etc.
So I contacted the buyer and told him so that he could make an item not received claim and I could give him a refund and claim it from the post office.
So he made the claim, I gave him a refund. He then sent me this email:
Ignoring the fact that if I was trying to scam him in some way I would have never contacted him in the first place.
So I sent him a scan of the padded envelope and suggested he complain to eBay if he thought he had a case. Somehow I doubt he will...

I am ebayer over ten year, this happened to me for the first time. I don't believe that the screen was stoled or broken in shipping. You never send it.

Date: 2017-01-19 11:04 am (UTC)He's saying now that the postcode on the label was wrong and that it was returned to me for that reason, which appears to be true - but Paypal generated that label, not me, so he should talk them - I'm guessing that the screen went missing at some point during the returns process, but I really can't be arsed to make a stink about it, it cost a couple of quid plus letter postage.
