Sign Now to save the Queen

Pointed out by gonzo21, a petition to block Trump from entering the UK, for the possibly suspect reason that having to meet him would be an embarrassment to the Queen. Started today, past 843,000 signatures already - Look at the page to see the rate they're arriving!

882,000+ as I read it now. Impressive speed, and I am not entirely surprised at the motivation. Why should Her Majesty have to tolerate the situation? Ever?

And I see the UKPM is digging in on this one. Boris Johnson with her. Backbenchers of their own party not at all happy with either of them. That last bit is heartening in its way.

Not surprising - if there was one thing likely to unite Parliament after the Brexit debacle it's dislike of the way they have their noses up Trump's arse.

Note that it was only to stop Trump from making a particular type of visit (the one which includes meeting the Queen) rather than from entering the UK altogether.

It was mentioned in papers today and I suspect on the radio, I think it is going to be a couple of million at least before it loses impetus.
