Here's the fifth and for now last of my Lois and Clark crossover drabbles. The previous ones are here, here and here. Not 100% sure this works as written, any suggestions on changes?

Later: Some revisions have been made, hope it's clearer.

Tentative

by Marcus L. Rowland

"What is this?" asked George, leafing through the PostIts Rube had given her. "The same name a dozen times in one day?"

"Tentative," said Rube. "Any of them might happen, but they aren't definite. Don't take the soul unless you're looking at a corpse."

"Someone really hates this guy? He's accident-prone?"

"Maybe." Rube gave nothing away.

Roxy came in, spotted the PostIts, and said "Journalism conference in town?"

"How'd you know?"

"I was on it last year. Waste of time."

"Then you know his full name."

"Hers. Possibly."

"Then... Please?"

"No comment... But say 'Hi' to Lois for me..."

Unrelated comment: I saw a review of your Diana game on rpg.net. It got a very nice score. Thought you might like to know.

Not having seen Dead Like Me I was utterly confused.

Having seen Dead Like Me and knowing Superman well, I'm still lost by the whole Journalism conference bit. Obviously the name is Clark, but why a conference and who's trying to kill him?

I was thinking more in terms of Lois and her frequent brushes with death. I'll make it a little clearer.

It's one that does need some explanation. Reapers are sent to gather the souls of people who die, usually a second or two before they're killed. To make things more complicated they are usually given the initial, last name, and tentative place and time of death, then left to find the person for themselves, which can be confusing if there are several members of the same family around.

It's an odd premise, but it works reasonably well in the TV show.
