...that wonders why nobody is writing EVIL!Sirius Black fanfic?

Or is there a lot around that I've just missed? Given all the people who write evil Dumbledore, Ron, Ginny etc. you'd think that the canon alleged murderer might really be one in one or two stories, but I've never seen one.

I think evil Sirius mostly comes up in stories sympathetic to Snape, especially ones set during their years at Hogwarts together, where he tends to be portrayed as having fully intended Snape to be killed when he sent him to face the werewolf and remorselessly seizing any other chance to torture and try to murder him. I've also come across stories where he's not so much intentionally evil as kind of unhinged about treating Harry as James Potter reborn and failing to recognise when he's freaking him out and forcing him into things that he doesn't want to do or recklessly exposing him to terrible danger.

What nomadicwriter said. Evil Sirius is mostly to be found in woobie Snape fiction, though he's usually only the secondary villain there, with Evil James being the primary one. I think the sole Marauder whom I haven't seen written as evil is Remus. (In fact, JKR writes Remus - the last book - far more critically than I've ever seen him depicted in fanfic.) With the caveat that with a fandom the size of HP, one is bound to miss a lot. So who knows? I only ever dipped my toes in it anyway. With a megafandom, I've learned never claim something doesn't exist, just that I haven't seen it. Usually you can bet someone has written it already.

Sounds plausible - I really don't like Snape so that's probably why I haven't come across it.

To be honest, when I first read your post, I thought you had written "Elvis Sirius Black", which is an entirely horse of a different color.

If you want to find evil Sirius, the fanfic logic is as follows - find the character who Sirius is most critical of in canon (movie or book) and look for fic written by people who adore that character. They will write evil Sirius - because Siris has to be wrong in order for their woobie to look good.

this rule sadly works in all fandoms.

That unfortunately means reading pro-Snape fic, not my first choice in this fandom.
