A Remarkable Lack of Crises...
Jun. 18th, 2019 02:03 amIt turns out that there are much cheaper sources of Windows 10, so I bit the bullet and managed to install Windows 10 Pro without any major trauma - for a couple of minutes I thought all my data had gone and would have to be restored from backups, fortunately it turned out I was logged in as admin rather than as me, and my own account was fine. I've updated my antivirus software, which so far has been the only incompatibility, but I expect it will take me a few days to sort out every last glitch.
Anyway, I got Windows 10 pro for £19.99 from Softwaregeeks.co.uk

Fingers crossed, so far it's looking good.
I probably will try Linux again too, but not until I've got everything sorted with Windows.
later - also reloaded all the old Windows games from
