Need a chemical price from 1996-7

Does anyone have any old scientific catalogues around?

For my Harry Potter story it would be useful to know how much magnesium ribbon and other forms of magnesium cost in 1996-7. This isn't even slightly vital, and I can easily write around it, but if anyone does happen to know it would be useful.

It's been around $8.50 for a 65' roll for the last 10 years. There have been some spikes. You can use $5-6 / roll as 1996 pricing

Seems a bit on the high side - I used to buy it for a school science lab, circa 2010 or so I think we were paying £6 or £8 for five 25g rolls. That was a special offer price though. Trouble is I really can't remember what we were paying circa 1996-7

Actually it was more like 2003-4, I was remembering it wrong, but as I said it was a special offer. I really wish I could remember this better, or had kept catalogues.

I'm seeing prices for $3-$5 as well online now.
No one would complain if you said $3/roll

I've ended up writing around it - it really isn't worth the hassle of trying to get it right.
