I didn't get into it until much later, now QC and Girl Genius are my favourite web comics - XKCD is there too, but it isn't a continuing narrative like the others.

Punchbot
Marten's Mom (the dominatrix)

Marten's Mom is there - Veronica Reed. Punchbot isn't, but he's not exactly a major character compared to most of the other AIs.
