Two revived offers for an RPG setting which unfortunately doesn't interest me at all: Shadow of the Demon Lord, a dark fantasy world.

Shadow of the Demon Lord core rulebookThis resurrected May 2017 Shadow of the Demon Lord Bundle is one of two revivals in progress featuring Shadow of the Demon Lord, Robert J. Schwalb's FRPG of grim heroism against a cosmic destroyer. In this fast-playing, low-prep game, desperate heroes battle strange magic, unhinged cultists, and roaming mobs of undead while humanity's last great empire slides toward oblivion. If you love Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, the Ravenloft and Midnight settings, Joe Abercrombie's The First Law novels, or heavy metal music, get this revived collection of DRM-free .PDF ebooks and confront the Void That Hungers – or, as star designer Kenneth Hite describes it, "Pure Spikey Caustic Red-Hot Squirming Deliquescing Rugose Gonna-Bite-Your-Fingers-Off Horned Fetid Monstrous EVIL."

If you're new to Shadow of the Demon Lord, start here with the core rulebook and essential supplements. The companion revival from October 2018, Demon Lord Victims, adds sourcebooks about the peoples and realms of the Lands in Shadow.

We originally presented this bargain-priced collection to great success in May 2017; this is its third revival. The original run prompted glowing writeups like The Dread Gazebo's "10 Great Reasons Why You Should Give Shadow of the Demon Lord a Try," and extravagant praise on Reddit's /r/rpg subreddit and the RPG.net forums. Each time we ran this Demon Lord offer, a bunch of customers would buy just the Starter Collection, then email us asking to upgrade their purchase to the complete lineup. Now you can upgrade right on your Wizard's Cabinet download page on the Bundle site. Customers can try a small taste of the Demon Lord (eww!), and if they like the flavor, they can get the rest of the offer friction-free.

We provide each title complete in .PDF. Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these ebooks have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their devices. (By publisher request, the DriveThruRPG versions of these files are inobtrusively watermarked.)

Ten percent of each purchase (after gateway fees) goes to these two Demon Lord revivals' designated charity, the Diana Jones Award Emerging Designer Program. Each year, the Diana Jones Award for Excellence in Gaming, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, amplifies the voices of up-and-coming game designers by featuring them during an expenses-paid visit to Gen Con. The global Emerging Designer Program focuses on creators from marginalized communities.

Exquisite Agony supplement for Shadow of the Demon LordThe total retail value of the titles in this revived offer is US$97. Customers who pay just US$9.95 get all five titles in our Starter Collection (retail value $42) as DRM-free ebooks, including the complete 278-page Shadow of the Demon Lord corebook, the Demon Lord's Companion, the Uncertain Faith sourcebook of divine magic, and the fine introductory adventure Dark Deeds in Last Hope. And the Demon Lord Screen gives you all the charts you need.

Those who pay more than the threshold (average) price, which is set at $19.95 to start, also get this revival's entire Bonus Collection with six more titles worth an additional $55. What's in these sourcebooks? The titles speak for themselves: Hunger in the Void, Tombs of the Desolation, A Glorious Death, Terrible Beauty, and Exquisite Agony. Plus, Tales of the Demon Lord is a collection of 11 low-prep adventures across the Northern Reach.

The trouble with these offers, as I have said before, is that I'm really not convinced that I'm in the market for games "for people who like Warhammer FRP" because I really dislike WFRP and most of the other sources mentioned. Last time I said

When the first bundle was released in 2017 I said

This is a system I don't know, and probably won't be playing - I'm not really into "Dark Fantasy" or any of the things they mention in the "if you love xxx you'll love this..." bit, and suspect it isn't really my sort of setting:

I think it looks like a reasonable deal, but I'm not going to be delving into it to see if I'm right or wrong. For this one you're on your own...

Sorry, but I'm afraid I'm not seeing anything here to change that. Try it if you like this sort of thing, I'm not going to advise either way.

Sorry, but this still applies.
