This is a one-week bundle prompted by Hasbro's apparent plans to amend the Open Games License, which lets a lot of companies publish games using the D&D rules, in favour of something that will allegedly be a lot more restrictive:

Worlds Without Number rulebookNone of the excellent fantasy RPGs in this new Non-OGL Fantasy Bundle are based on the Open Game License (OGL), but they all empower your own adventures of heroes and quests, monsters and magic, intrigue and danger – and for an unbeatable bargain price.

At this writing the OGL is about to change, as portended in Linda Codega's Gizmodo article of 05 January, "Dungeons & Dragons' New License Tightens Its Grip on Competition." As more details emerge of Hasbro's new "1.1" version of the OGL, Mike Shea (AKA The Lazy Dungeon Master) has been compiling sources in his blog post "WOTC Attempts to Deauthorize the OGL 1.0a – Thoughts on the OGL 1.1." The timing and precise nature of OGL 1.1 remain unclear, but publishers are taking it seriously. There is active, not to say frenetic, discussion on gaming subreddits like r/rpg, and on RPG.net, ENworld, and the Defend the OGL Discord server (Discord link). There is an open letter to Wizards of the Coast at #OpenDnD. There are tumultuous times ahead.

Many gamers in these discussions report they're looking for alternatives to D&D – games never released under the OGL but still good at supporting D&D-style gameplay. If you're one of those gamers, check the many games in this new Non-OGL Fantasy Bundle.

We provide each title complete in .PDF. Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these ebooks have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their devices. (By publisher request, the DriveThruRPG versions of some of these files are inobtrusively watermarked.)

Sword Chronicle rulebookThe total retail value of the titles in this offer is US$136.50. Customers who pay just US$9.95 get all five titles in our Starter Collection (retail value $41) as DRM-free ebooks, including the Mythras Core Rules (retail $7), The Dark Eye rulebook (retail $20), Advanced Fighting Fantasy (retail $14), Heroes Against Darkness (free), and The Oldskull Manifesto (pay-what-you-want).

Those who pay more than the threshold (average) price, which is set at $24.95 to start, also get our entire Bonus Collection with five more titles worth an additional $95.50, including Worlds Without Number Deluxe Edition (retail price $20), Sword Chronicle (retail $20), Warlock! Traitor's Edition (retail $14.50), Fantasy AGE (retail $16), and Against the Darkmaster (retail $25).

Most of the titles in this offer have appeared in past Bundle offers. The titles new to the Bundle of Holding – Worlds Without Number, Oldskull Manifesto, and Sword Chronicle – have a combined retail value of $40.

This really isn't my style of gaming and hasn't been for a very long time, but these all appear to be competently written alternatives and should work if you want to use them.

I shall resist the urge to put on my game designer's hat and say "I told you so!" since I wasn't really very vocal about my suspicions of the OGL, and it actually lasted much longer than I expected...
