This all-new Clement Sector 3E Bundle presents the 2021 Third Edition of Clement Sector, the 24th-Century space opera SFRPG from Independence Games that uses the Cepheus Engine based on the First Edition of Mongoose Traveller. Set in a distant space sector stranded after a wormhole collapse, Clement Sector has grown and matured through three editions to become one of the largest and best-supported lines based on this popular open license. Fight epic space battles – explore new worlds – become a pirate or bounty hunter – it's all possible in Clement Sector, and this big bundle provides the foundation for many exploits. We provide each title complete in .PDF. Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these ebooks have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their devices.
Ten percent of each purchase (after gateway fees) of this Clement Sector offer goes to the charity designated by Independence Games owner John Watts, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. The Foundation is the globally recognized leader in brain aneurysm awareness, education, support, advocacy, and research funding.
The total retail value of the titles in this Clement Sector 3E Bundle is US$210. Customers who pay just US$17.95 get all seven titles in our Starter Collection (retail value $87) as DRM-free ebooks, including the complete standalone Clement Sector Third Edition core rulebook (retail price $25), the character expansion Diverse Roles (retail $10), the world and star system generation sourcebook Unmerciful Frontier: The CCA Sourcebook (retail $10), and four starship supplements: Anderson and Felix Guide to Naval Architecture 3E (retail $20), Wendy's Guide to the Fleets of Hub Subsector (retail $10), Pleiades-class Light Freighter (retail price $6), and Roosevelt-class Intercept Destroyer (retail $6).
Those who pay more than the threshold (average) price, which is set at $34.95 to start, also get our entire Bonus Collection with nine more titles worth an additional $123, including Port of Entry (retail $13); three subsector sourcebooks (retail $20 each) – Hub, Sequoyah, and The Colonies; and five background sourcebooks (retail $10 each): Manhunters: Bounty Hunters, Outlaw, Skull and Crossbones, Tree of Life: Altrants, and Wondrous Menagerie: Uplifts.
I'm a big Traveller fan but this has somehow never come my way before, and the idea of a setting that doesn't have The Imperium lurking somewhere in the background definitely appeals. I haven't had a chance to go through this thoroughly yet, but my first impression is that it's well worth a look.
I should probably warn you that I'm not personally a big fan of the character art, which is computer generated and goes fairly deeply into the uncanny valley. It doesn't really worry me, but it's a little jarring at times, and on the whole I think I prefer drawings etc. No other immediate objections I can see, except a feeling that this is a VERY Westernized version of the human future, drawing most of its culture from the USA etc. with a few token worlds colonized by India, Iran, etc. I may be completely wrong on this, but that's my first impression.
Also, if anyone had trouble downloading the material from Monday's offer the problems are now sorted - at some point someone made a mistake setting up caches which has now been fixed.
