Airship Daedalus
https://bundleofholding.com/quick/DaedalusThis offer launched Wednesday, April 19, and runs through 11PM Eastern US time (GMT -4) Wednesday, April 26.
This all-new Airship Daedalus Quick Deal presents Airship Daedalus, the deco-punk RPG from Deep7 Press of 1920s pulp adventure a la Indiana Jones, The Rocketeer, Sky Captain, and The Mummy. In an alternate Modern Age that never was, operatives of AEGIS need hardboiled courage against overwhelming odds as they fight to free the world from the secret cult of the Silver Star. Chart a course for two-fisted excitement as a pilot, explorer, soldier, scientist, pirate, entertainer, occultist, masked avenger, and more.
The Airship Daedalus roleplaying game is just one part of a multi-faceted media property – novels, comics, even audio serial dramas – from creator Todd Downing. Set in an alternate history that largely avoids the social foibles of our own 1920s, Airship Daedalus casts you as a field operative, academic, or strike team leader for the American Enterprise Group for International Security (AEGIS). Daedalus focuses on the key pulp elements of danger, excitement, adventure, and hardboiled courage against overwhelming odds.
Airship Daedalus uses the XPG rules, a simple 2d6-based stat+skill roll-under system that emphasizes "cinematic grittiness." Though adventures may be full of sweeping heroism and larger-than-life deeds, the effects of actions are relatively realistic. A single sword blow to an enemy's skull can kill. The same heroes who are raiding tombs and slaying monsters one day may later bleed to death while brigands loot their belongings.
This all-new Quick Deal gives you everything you need to discover lost cities, battle ancient horrors, and thwart the machinations of secret societies bent on world domination. We provide each title complete in .PDF. Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these ebooks have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their devices. (By publisher request, the DriveThruRPG versions of these files are inobtrusively watermarked.)
The total retail value of the titles in this Airship Daedalus Quick Deal is US$42. Customers who pay just US$9.95 get all six titles in our Daedalus Collection (retail value $42) as DRM-free ebooks, including the complete Airship Daedalus RPG (retail price $10), plus the free Automaton expansion; AEGIS Field Manual (retail $4) and the AEGIS Vigilante Team Resource Guide (retail $3); Under the Surface (retail $13); the AEGIS Interplanetary Guidebook (retail $8); and Valley of the Mist (retail $4).
This looks interesting, pushes a lot of my buttons, and is pretty cheap. I think it's a pretty good deal, but I should probably point out that I don't pay for this stuff - if you do your opinion may differ. About the only thing I dislike so far is that the interplanetary setting (based on post War of the Worlds exploitation of Martian tech) refers to the British Army as the Royal Army, which is one of those things Americans never seem to get right unless the setting is a LOT more AU than it looks at first glance.
later - apparently there's also a reference to the British Navy rather than the Royal Navy in there somewhere...
