It just occurred to me that the Apple Brits knew in the seventies and early eighties wasn't the American computer company; it was Apple Corps, the Beatle's music and boutique business, which was running at a loss for much of this period.
It might be an interesting twist to mention the Apple shares, let readers make the unjustified assumption, then casually add that the shares tanked after the Beatles split up.
