Dungeon Fantasy
https://bundleofholding.com/presents/DungeonFantasy
This Dungeon Fantasy Bundle Powered by GURPS presents the ready-to-play standalone Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game based on GURPS, the Generic Universal RolePlaying System from Steve Jackson Games. Design and fine-tune your fantasy characters, monsters, treasures, and traps to work exactly the way you like. Dungeon Fantasy harnesses the customizing power of GURPS to give you fully-realized characters and fantastic dungeon-crawling adventures.
Since 1985 GURPS has exemplified the Simulationist design approach, emphasizing fine-grained realism, point-based character creation, and highly detailed equipment. Designer Steve Jackson based the combat system on his early fighting experience in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Through four editions and an immense support line, GURPS has explored every genre from prehistory to the far future to all flavors of fantasy.
One of the very last gaming styles GURPS tackled was traditional D&D-style hack'n'slash. In 2007 Sean "Dr Kromm" Punch (still the GURPS line editor today – since, whoa, 1995!) formulated a streamlined range of short .PDF supplements for GURPS Fourth Edition that offered package-deal character templates, focused trait lists, off-the-shelf equipment loadouts, and crib sheets for beer-and-pretzels dungeoneering – what he called "house rules" that let you skip straight to "You meet in a tavern." In the next nine years this GURPS Dungeon Fantasy line grew to encompass four dozen supplements and many articles in Pyramid magazine. These supplements require the GURPS Basic Set and (usually) GURPS Magic.
In September 2016 SJ Games Kickstarted a separate, free-standing Dungeon Fantasy RPG, friendlier to new gamers and veterans alike. Dungeon Fantasy Powered by GURPS has its own support line that doesn't require the GURPS rulebooks. (That said, you can adapt GURPS content to it with a little work.)
This new offer gives you the Dungeon Fantasy Powered by GURPS core set and many supplements for an unbeatable bargain price – everything you need to custom-build tough dungeon-delvers, equip them with all kinds of gear, and fight battles using a streamlined version of the flexible GURPS combat system. We provide each title complete in .PDF. Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these ebooks have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their devices.
Ten percent of each purchase (after gateway fees) goes to this Dungeon Fantasy offer's designated charity, Direct Relief. Direct Relief sends protective gear and critical care medications to health workers, with emergency deliveries to medical facilities across the US and to regional response agencies across the world.
The total retail value of the titles in this Dungeon Fantasy Bundle is US$151. Customers who pay just US$17.95 get all four titles in our Starter Collection (retail value $71) as DRM-free ebooks, including the complete Dungeon Fantasy Powered by GURPS core set (retail price $40), the first Dungeon Fantasy Companion (retail $16), the Dungeon Fantasy GM Screen (retail $11), and the Dungeon Planner (retail $4).
Those who pay more than the threshold (average) price, which is set at $37.95 to start, also get our entire Bonus Collection with five more supplements, including Dungeon Fantasy Companion 2 (retail $16) and Companion 3 (retail price $25), Dungeon Fantasy Magic Items (retail $7) and Magic Items 2 (retail $16), and Monsters 2 (retail $16).
This is a system I've never really had much to do with because of my bias against dungeon-bashing type games, but it looks to be a pretty good package that can be combined with GURPS fairly easily. If you're a GURPS referee thinking of branching out into fantasy, or a fantasy referee thinking of giving GURPS a try, it may be a good starting point.
