Good News, Bad News

ffuturesThe good news is that the foot and road bridge at the end of my road - crossing the railway and tube lines a half mile or so from Paddington - is finally going to be repaired after more than two years of the pavement on one side being closed and other problems.
The bad news is that they're starting on Christmas Eve and continuing until the end of the month, and I suspect that there will be a lot of travel problems with the bridge closed some of the time, Royal Oak underground station on the bridge possibly closed throughout the project, trains on the railway disrupted, and so forth, plus a lot of noise at night etc.
