Feeling slightly stunned....

The British Library has just asked me for permission to keep a permanent archive of my web site, as part of a 2-year pilot scheme. I presume that the historical content etc. has a lot to do with it, but it's certainly recognition I wasn't expecting.

Of course if it turns out that everyone who owns a UK web site got the same latter I will be somewhat less impressed...

I got it a few months ago.

I think it's broad, but relatively selective compared to what they could be doing. Lots of content seems to get them interested, and you've got that.

Oh well, there goes the whole sensawunder...

Only kidding - I would have been amazed if you hadn't got one, ditto Dave Langford etc.

Denmark has a similar project, and from what I've gathered about that - from the classes I attended and what not - they don't ask just anyone. You have to have content that they feel say something/is something, so I'd definitely feel honoured to be asked to be part of such a project. ;)

Congrats.

Considering the remit of the British Library, it's still pretty awe-inspiring that they've picked you and your work. Congratulations!

It's more of a release form than anything else, plus I have to confirm that nothing on my site is anyone else's copyright.

I think that the whole Diana Warrior Princess thing might cause a few problems there...

I had one for one of our web sites - I can't even remember which one ...

I wonder what the common factor is? Did it have lots of documents?

I think it was for spoilyourvote.co.uk (which I must take down, as the people I did it for seem to have vanished) - no documents at all.

It's quite important to political studies, from the look of things, which may be why they wanted it.
