James Wallace (of Hogshead & WFRUP fame) is raising money for the cancerbackup charity by going on a long sponsored walk - the sponsorship page is at http://www.justgiving.com/jameswallis - he's also started a blog for the walk, http://www.magnumopuspress.com/blog
I personally prefer more sedentary ways of raising money for charity, but it's a good cause so go sponsor him.
