Teco LCD TVs?

ljgenie, I've been planning to buy a big LCD TV once they got affordable(ish) in the UK. Unfortunately the first to fall into the "big enough / price I can afford(ish) / decent specification" bracket is one by a company I know very little about; Teco, who I'm led to believe may also trade as Relisys.
Does anyone here have any experience of this company's big-screen TVs? The one I'm looking at is this one:

I have no idea what these cost in the US, but believe me, this is VERY cheap by UK standards. My worry is that it may be an older specification panel or something.

But the website has more hits in their search for Teco products, might be possible to get a feel for what they are like as a manufacturer in general.

Date: 2006-08-21 11:52 am (UTC)I suspect that what you're looking at is the generic OEM guts of a Hitachi or Panasonic or similar respectable brand, sold direct by the Chinese factory that makes it rather than via the "name" vendor. ("Name" vendor can sell X units at GBP 2000; factory can make X*2 units at GBP 500; factory therefore sells all they can to the "name" vendor then slaps a cheap tuner and case around the surplus and ships them out the door at a smaller profit.)
