ffutures: Flatland map (Flatland)
[personal profile] ffutures
I'm working on characters for the Flatland game I'll be running at Dragonmeet and want a few names. All characters will have some knowledge of Forbidden Mathematics and the Third Dimension, so far I have

Rhombus, near-equilateral triangle and immortal (yes, I know the name is all wrong for a triangle) who for various reasons can percieve the third dimension.

Albert Square (name stolen from Stewart's "Flatterland"), narrator of Flatland

Ellery Quin, five-sided detective and mathematician.

I could also use Professor Hex, one of the sample characters in the rules, if I change his stats a little, but I'd prefer someone new. Any suggestions? Preferably names that are funny...

Tra-la-lapezoid, musician (whatever style works musically for the game).

If you're doing detectives, how about Zero Wolfe (totally round) and his sidekick Archie-medes?

Like it!

Bit contrived, but a possibility.

Perfectly round is God. Lots of sides, enough to look circular, is a high priest or king. Can't see either as an adventurer interested in heretical geometry, and without Zero Archie doesn't quite work. But thanks for the suggestion - I'll think about it, there may be some way to make it work.

Sir Kull Lyne - a member of the underground

Quincy Boid (Q-boid to his friends)

John just came up with a pokemon flat line cross over game - "Pentagon I choose you" and the "Square rangers". I really shouldn't let him watch TV this early in the morning its not good for him!

Oh No its now become "Polygon - Gotta graph 'em all."
Should I hit him over the head now for the good of humanity?

May be for the future... from John
XY and the shaded graphs - a group of tean polygons who fight crime with cool new formuli.
He confesses hanna barabara cartoons did form part of his upbringing.

Too obscure for me, I'm afraid.

Set the Square?
A homeless character called Ezium (Tramp Ezium)?
Phil Flood, the painter?
Polly Gone, the escapolgist?

Shall I stop now? I'm not sure they really qualify as funny, more painful really.
