Cat photos (why not, everyone else does...)

Went down to my sister's flat for the afternoon; the occasion was actually my oldest niece's 36th birthday, also a visit by middle niece and baby Max, but it also happens to be her cats' 11th birthday in a couple of days. So here are some cutish cat pictures...



This one is Whiskers, the neutered tom, doing the thing he does best, which is lurking on top of a radiator:



The other two are Minky, his sister, a neutered female, who seems to be trying to make a career out of being a cute flirt. Oddly Whiskers actually seems to be more of a success in this respect, with a lot more little old lady cred - he just sits on the wall outside and LOLs produce sachets of cat food out of their handbags. For some reason Minky doesn't get as much attention, I think because she's more of a sun-lover and the street side of the house is in the shade. The first one is in their greenhouse, the second in the back garden. She often rests in a wicker peg basket in the greenhouse, but never seems to do so when I have a camera handy, or I would sweep the boards for cuteness overload...

I never was a cat person but since inheriting the mantle of cat lover via marriage, I've even posted a few pics myself. Is this with the new camera?

Yes - it's pretty good so far, I've got some excellent baby pictures etc. but would prefer not to post family pictures without permission.

Minky is desperately cute - I get the impression with her that she is doing some things deliberately as a parody, e.g. the whole "rear up on hind legs and sink claws into the nice human's kneecap and gaze in his face" thing. Whiskers is a lot more stand-offish.

That's where I sometimes see her in the clothes peg basket, but it wasn't there yesterday.

Pretty well, except I've a couple of times had focus do funny things (e.g. lock on my neice's birthday cake rather than my niece) and need to learn some of the settings which avoid that sort of thing.
