More fun with the new camera - links to a couple of biggish pictures behind the cut:

This first one is some of the frogs that have reappeared in our pond again. Unusually there's a fairly small one visible here, presumably born last year. It's not as sharp as I would like, but considering I was standing about eight feet away hand-holding the camera with the zoom lens extended to about 300mm it isn't entirely surprising. Evening light plus flash.

And this is tonight's full Moon in the evening sky, a 500mm mirror lens hand-held, 150th at F8. I've cheated by adjusting the contrast and sharpening it slightly, which makes the sky look darker than it was, but considering how low in the sky it was I'm reasonably happy. Just wish I'd had the camera for the eclipse. Annoyingly I just missed a plane flying just below it, and though I waited a while another didn't come along close enough to be in frame.

Frogs! Frog pics always make my day better. And what a lovely color to the moon.

I was going to post more froggy stuff but the rest are pretty much the same as the ones I took about this time last year so there didn't seem much point. The moon's colour etc. are probably mostly down to the angle in the sky, and to a lesser extent to the contrast adjustment.

I initially misread that as "frogs on the moon."

Nice pictures. I, too, like the frogs.
