Cisco Wifi drivers?
Aug. 13th, 2007 05:01 pmThe Cisco card I bought arrived, but it turns out that this particular card (Aironet 350), while allegedly compatible with the Jornada 710/20, isn't automatically recognized - it needs drivers, and Cisco seem to be making it ridiculously difficult to get them. I've tried registering on their site, but there seems to be no way to get at the necessary drivers now, and they won't give any technical support without a service contract. I suspect that a contract would cost more than the PC did.
What I need, basically, is the driver and installation utility to use an Aironet 350 card on a Handheld PC with a StrongArm processor running Windows for Handheld PC 2000 version 3.0 - this ought to be installable via activesync, or come in a form where it can install off a flash card.
Anyone by any remote chance got the setup disk / files going spare?
Later The guy who sold it to me says he's found the disk and will send it - hopefully that will sort it.

Date: 2007-08-14 12:32 am (UTC)Anyway, I was talking with Darren Watts at my 20th high school class reunion over the weekend, and found out that he's the president of a company called Hero Games. I'm not a gamer myself (I read your LJ for the fanfiction), but threw your name out as someone I knew of in the gaming world. Darren immediately said he recognized your name, but some of his details made me think he really didn't know you (that you worked for Rainy Day Games, and that'd he'd likely see you at a Canadian gaming convention coming up soon). Of course, the reunion was in a loud faux-Irish pub, so we may have both mis-heard each other.
So, anyway, in the spirit of proving how small the world can be sometimes, do you indeed know Darren Watts of Hero Games?
