ffutures: (Tooth and Claw)
[personal profile] ffutures
As I may have mentioned a couple of times, I'm working on an RPG based on the novel Tooth and Claw by Jo Walton, which has a dragon civilization with mid-Victorian equivalent technology. One of the things I'd like to include is some figure recs - preferably for 25mm / 28mm scale, but I'll also consider plastic models and toys.

The dragons are the classic "snake-like body with wings and legs" type, not the "dinosaur with wings" you see in some figures, with sizes of adults ranging from 10ft or so up to 60-70ft long, and presumably thicker bodies (but not hugely so) with greater length. I'd particularly like some holding things, e.g. books, lying on piles of gold, driving steam engines, etc.

Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.

Oh, and they wear hats, though I suspect that people will have to make their own.

Schleich toys perhaps?

Like this one http://www.mastermindtoys.com/store/product.asp?product_code=62238&subcat=911&agecat=&cat=&brand=7

I believe they do more, or a company very similar to them does...

nice, maybe a bit too bulky in the body but certainly usable - colour is wrong since green indicates poor health, but it's certainly a possibility.

Here's some that I found Googling

I googled on the term "Wyrm" and "Chinese Dragon". This is one, but it's a bit pricy, £135!

And Grenadier has a collection of dragons:

Both look usable - colour for the first one is a mature female who wouldn't breathe fire, but at that price I wouldn't be using it anyway. The Grenadier ones are quite good.

think your chances of dragons doing things are pretty slim, but I looked for some easy to mod dragons

The chinese one looks lovely apart from being green and wingless, both probably fixable. Not so sure about the other one, a bit too robotic-looking.
