I seem to have won an award at the Twisting the Hellmouth Crossing Over Awards. Best Dr. Who / Torchwood crossover for Edit

I was also top runner-up for multiple crossovers with Bring Me The Head of Harry Potter, which slightly surprised me considering how old it is, for Drabbles with Friends Help You Move, and in the top ten for most nominations, 23 out of 1219.

On the whole I think that most of the winners deserved it (and I'm definitely not going to name the one that astonishes me - and no, I wasn't runner up or close to it in that category - for its sheer badness). I'm a bit disappointed that none of the stories I nominated won anything, but so it goes.

Congrats! I won...nothing, but that doesn't surprise me as I've not written anything in ages.

Well, Edit is a couple of years old, so is the Harry Potter story. I think a lot of it is down to luck, and how well your story happens to fit in with whatever the current fan zeitgeist happens to be - for example, I'm disappointed that Dead Trouble didn't do better, but since there's no porn in it, and that seems to be the most popular aspect of HP fandom, I'm not entirely surprised.

I went back and checked and ended up very close second in a couple of categories as well. Honestly, I forgot this was even going on. I agree, though, about current zeitgeist and reader preferences. Since I'm not reading much these days, and nothing by 95% of the authors listed, I have no idea what that even is.

Congrats! My story struck out, but as I was astonished it was nominated in the first place, I'm not really surprised (I always find the stories people nominate, that I've written, a bit strange!)

Some of the nominations and winners are definitely strange. Can't take them very seriously, but it's nice to have won one.

Congratulations!

I'm astonished (on grounds of badness) by 4 of the winners. I was absolutely flabbergasted that another of your stories didn't win its category; it was superior to the actual winner by the same amount as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is superior to the noise made by a pack of hyenas squabbling over the carcase of a warthog.

Many thanks - about the way I feel about at least one category, but I mustn't be bitter. Very sorry you didn't get any awards - it appears that my nomination is the kiss of death!

Yay, good for you! I say an award is an award, whether it's late or not. Well... not too late. *applause*

A clever hook suckers me in every time.

And, you know, I could have been reading smut instead.
