Somebody pointed out in comments that this might be the 4 minute teaser that was made way back when the potential of a Buffy cartoon was first muted, which has finally been leaked. So it may not indicate a renewed interest in commissioning the show.
Though I'd hope that positive buzz from this trailer might help count for something.
I'm really enjoying the season 8 comics so if nothing else I am reassured that the storytelling was strong enough to survive a change of medium, which would bode well for a cartoon if it were an upcoming production, which the internet shows no sign of being the case.

Actually, in a sense, she already did. "The Trio" strike me as the prototype for that concept.
Anyway, I would love to see such a series, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
