When I was a kid I had loads of cheap plastic spacemen, injection moulded with clear plastic helmets, adjustable arms, and ray guns. Can't now remember who made them. Is anything like this still available?

Or just moulded plastic spacemen generally, preferably around 25mm scale and up?

I'd like to recommend a few manufacturers for Planets of Peril, but I've not had much luck finding anything in the shops I've tried so far.

Britains used to make a line of spaceman figures, which might be the ones you recall:

Other than that, I had when I was little a box of Airfix 1/72nd scale spacemen. I have no idea if they still make them though.

Yes, those look about right. The 1/72nd scale ones are probably a bit small but certainly worth mentioning if they're still made.

I had a bunch of key rings with little robots on them that were puzzles. They came apart into five or six pieces, and the pieces came in different colours so that you could theoretically put together a robot in each colour. I think I have one left somewhere. I miss those little guys.

Not that that was remotely relevant, but there you are.

I'm not convinced that this world has many robots. Looks like vacuum tube tech.

They might have "robots" that were more like mobile waldoes.

The only one mentioned at all is a "robot driver" in Tidal Moon, and that's the one that was mostly written by Weinbaum's sister after his death. They don't seem to have autopilots on spaceships, which you would think was the most obvious use for robotics, which is why I really doubt that they use that sort of technology.

The reason I put "robots" in quotes is that mobile waldoes aren't really "robots" -- they are simply handling machines. They require human operators.

I agree with you that there are probably no true robots in the Weinbaumverse.
